Students are continuing working on their cursive writing with letters k, r, and s. We are also working to write to inform. Students will be reading multiple articles about Salt and then taking the information within those articles to write an informative article of their own.
Due to FSA testing, I am pushing back our cursive lessons. This week we will look at i and j, review our letters up to this point, and have an assessment on Thursday, May 3rd. We are also working on taking information and evidence from different articles to write about our understanding.
Students will be working on i and j and reviewing out previous letters. Students will take an assessment on Friday, April 27th.
The students are doing really well with their cursive writing! We will be focusing on new letters: f, u, y, i, and j. On Tuesday students will have a test on letters c,a,d,g,h,t,p,e,l,f.
We will be working to extend our written responses and making sure to add in enough detail to fully answer the questions.
We will be working on taking information out of a text and using it to answer questions, but using our own words. We will also look at how to properly cite and reference articles when we do use direct quotes. Students will also begin their Cursive unit!
Students will finish their opinion piece on whether kids should or should not have chores at home. They will peer review their classmates' papers and provide meaningful feedback.
